IES Jönköping Kickstarts the Academic Year with Teambuilding
The first six weeks at IES Jönköping have been packed with teambuilding, assemblies, trips, and strong community building across all year groups.
Primary School Coordinators Ms. Pomphrey and Ms. Kai & Primary Assistant Principal Ms. Hibic greet all Primary students and welcome them to School Year 26/27!
The start of the academic year at IES Jönköping has focused on fostering positive relationships and creating a calm, safe environment where students can flourish. Across all year groups, the first six weeks have set a solid foundation for both personal development and academic success.
Primary Students
Our youngest students kickstarted the term with their first joint assembly. School leadership, School Coordinators, and staff warmly welcomed everyone back. The Sunshine Fritids provided great energy with a lively music and dance performance, and the annual visit from the ice cream truck brought smiles to every face.
In Primary, Character Counts is central to everything we do. Each month, students focus on one specific pillar of character, with the current focus being on building positive relationships.
Junior Students
Junior students have engaged in team-building activities and monthly assemblies focused on shared goals and school culture.

Character Counts: Core character values are central across all year groups and assemblies, helping students develop their personal character alongside their academic studies.
- Year 6 Camping: The annual camping trip was a great success once again. A memorable highlight for many students, this tradition strengthens bonds within classes while teaching practical skills, such as pitching tents, outdoor safety, and teamwork.
Year 6 students are preparing for the camp and setting up their tents.
Senior Students
Senior students took part in a range of engaging initiatives designed for both personal growth and future preparation.

Year 7 Teambuilding: Students visited Prison Island, working together to solve physical and mental challenges that strengthened class cohesion.

Year 8 Career Days: Visiting speakers shared insights into various professions, helping students explore the job market and start thinking about upper secondary school options.

Year 9 Capital Trip: Achieving a key goal for all students at IES Jönköping is visiting Sweden's capital before graduation. Year 9 spent unforgettable days in Stockholm. The trip combined camping with educational visits to the Swedish Museum of Natural History, the Paradox Museum, and Cosmonova.
Democracy in Practice & School Election
As part of our mission to foster responsible members of society, our students also participated in a school election (skolval). In social studies, classes explored what democracy means, how democratic institutions function, and the role of political parties. Voting in a simulated election gave students hands-on experience of how democratic rights and responsibilities work in practice.
