Greetings and allow me to introduce you to our school! The most important part of any school is the people: without great teachers and support staff you cannot build a great school. In the search for the best possible team I spend countless hours each year interviewing teachers from around the world. Naturally, I look for teachers that are certified and knowledgeable in their subjects, but more importantly I look at the people themselves - their character, motivation and desite to be a part of a team, a family.

To be a successful teacher is a real challenge: you have to understand your subject on a very high level but also be able to simplify it and explain it in several different ways; you have to be able to switch from being clear and concrete to making something living and vibrant depending on the class, modd and time of the day. You need to be firm, freindly and fair with all students, make lessons enjoyable and purposeful; help every student develop both academically and socially. A real balancing act!

I am incredibly proud of the team I have assembled and the school we have built together. We have worked hard to balance being both systematic and strctured with seeing and reaching every individual who has chosen to be a part of the IES Jönköping story. Welcome!
