A lecture on violence and its consequences

Today we conlcuded our lectures for year 9 students conducted by Niklas Håkansson. His presentation focused on how his life has changed after experiencing and act of violence against him as a teenager. Through Niklas' life story our students had a first hand account of how acts of violence can have severe physical and psychological consequences on individuals and those around them.

This presentation is part of our preventative work regarding violence and conflict. The aim is to help our students understand how quickly arguments can escalate and the potential long term effects of violence. This also created an opportunity for our students to reflect on and discuss topics such as conflict, responsiblity, safety, empathy and respect.
