Sun, Smiles, and Soakers: The Ultimate School Yard Water Battle!

The back school yard transformed into a high-energy splash zone this week as students from Years 4 through 9 teamed up with teachers and principals for our highly anticipated annual water battle. Blessed with perfect sunny weather, the event brought the entire school community together for an afternoon of pure, unforgettable fun.

The temperatures are rising, summer is just around the corner, and at IES Hässelby Strand, we found the absolute perfect way to cool down. Our annual school yard water battle made its triumphant return, and it’s safe to say this year's event set a brand-new standard for school spirit and excitement!

From year 4 all the way up to our graduating year 9s, the back school yard was packed with eager participants ready to drench and be drenched.

To ensure absolutely no one was left out of the action, the school stepped in to provide plenty of water equipment for students who didn’t bring their own.

Elite Vibes & Sunny Skies

We truly lucked out with the weather this year. The sun was shining bright, making the water a welcome relief. The atmosphere was nothing short of electric—music was pumping, water was flying in every direction, and the school yard was filled with the sounds of laughter and cheering.

"It was super duper fun!" said one excited student from year 6, wiping water from their eyes. "The vibes were just amazing, and everyone was just having the best time together."

Staff and Leadership Join the Fray

The students weren't the only ones making a splash. In true IES spirit, our brave staff members and school principals stepped right into the line of fire! Armed with their own water blasters, the leadership team and teachers joined the chaos, proving they have just as much fighting spirit as the kids. It was a wonderful opportunity for students and staff to connect, let loose, and celebrate the school year together.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, brought the energy, and maintained such great sportsmanship throughout the battle. Days like this remind us how special our school community truly is!
