Year 7 Design Success with Wood Clocks
Year 7 students have successfully completed a hands-on project making custom clocks. From initial design to final assembly, students showed great determination and skill.
The woodwork room has been a hub of activity as Year 7 students took on the challenge of creating their own functional clocks. This project required a high level of precision and patience, reflecting the IES commitment to academic aspirations and the learning process.
Students were responsible for every stage of the creation:
Design and Planning: Each student developed a unique concept, ensuring their design was both aesthetic and functional.
Measurement and Cutting: Using mathematical skills, students calculated dimensions and cut their materials with care.
Assembly and Finishing: The final stage involved the careful mounting of the clock mechanisms to bring their designs to life.
We are proud of the perseverance shown by our students. This project is a fantastic example of grit, where students did not give up in the face of technical challenges. The results are not only beautiful but show a deep respect for the craft and the knowledge gained during the term.
