Reading Week and World Book Day Celebrations
Our students will immerse themselves in literature during Reading Week (week 18). From library challenges to World Book Day on April 23rd, it is time to celebrate the joy of books.
At Internationella Engelska Skolan Hässelby Strand, we want our students to develop a strong command of both Swedish and English. Reading is a fundamental part of this journey. To celebrate World Book Day on April 23rd, we are launching an intensive Reading Week filled with activities and challenges.
During this week, students will dedicate 20–30 minutes of every lesson to reading, excluding practical-esthetical subjects. This initiative supports our focus on teacher-led learning and academic aspirations
Library and School Activities The library will be the heart of our celebrations, hosting several events:
-
Reading Ambassadors’ Project: Discover our new student-led initiative.
-
Competitions: Enter our short story and poem competitions by May 28th.
-
Challenges: Participate in quizzes, story walks, and poster-making sessions.
-
Interviews: Pick up a sheet in the library to interview someone older about their favourite books.
Around the School The excitement continues outside the library with school-wide events:
We encourage all students to visit the library and get a book today to prepare for this inspiring week.
