IES Gävle competes at International Language Competition

The International Language Competition is an international language and culture contest in modern languages, English, and Swedish for primary and secondary school students.

Recently, two of our amazing students took part in the International Language Competition – a language and Australian culture showdown where students from across the country battle it out in grammar, vocabulary, and cultural know-how!

The event, organized by @ilcsverige aims to inspire young people to dive deeper into languages and explore the world through different cultures.

So, what did our students do?
🔥 They prepared & competed.
🎉 They had a blast.
🏅 They came in fourth (!!) in a super tough round.
🚌 They survived the trip – even with a very enthusiastic teacher.

We couldn’t be prouder – not just of their impressive result, but of the joy, bravery, and linguistic flair they brought to the competition.

Events like these are all about stepping out of your comfort zone, connecting with others, and seeing the world through new eyes – all through the power of language.
