Back to school: Empowering Our IES Bromma Educators
True preparation begins with empowering the ones who lead our classrooms. Here is a look inside the deep thought, collaboration, and professional dedication our teachers and non teaching staff invested this week to prepare for day one at IES Bromma.

A Shared Humanistic Vision
The tone for the week was set during an inspiring inaugural address by Principal Dr. Rachel Heimeier. Balancing critical operational updates with a deeply humanistic call to action, Dr. Heimeier reminded the faculty that our students remain at the very heart of everything we do, and that

Cultivating a Culture of Thinking
Great teaching goes beyond regular lesson planning. This year, our faculty engaged in a transformative session led by our new Academic Manager, Mr. Joe Hemingway, focused on building a Culture of Thinking.
Our teachers explored how to shift the classroom dynamic away from passive learning to using practical strategies to nurture independent, brave, empathetic, and creative critical thinkers. Our teachers are set to lead by example.
Working Together to Create an Inclusive Environment
Every student should be empowered to thrive from their very first day in school. Our Assistant Principals of junior and senior school, Ms Annaliisa Furbacken and Ms Janna Adamsson, updated us on upcoming reforms that promote a safe learning environment and how we will work with this.
Together with our Student Health Team and teachers, a routine including visual frameworks, was drawn out that empowers teachers to deploy tailored, learning strategies directly in their classrooms.
The Power of Collective Efficacy
Collective Efficacy is the shared belief that teachers achieve monumental success when they work as a unified team. Echoing the highly organized collaboration found in nature, our educators worked across departments like bees and ants to dive deep into scholastic data.
Led by Academic Manager Ms. Jessica Juarez, the faculty analyzed last year’s incredible milestones—including over 9,400 spring term grades and a 100% gymnasium acceptance rate for eligible Year 9 graduates. Rather than resting on these laurels, teachers used Data-Driven Instruction to refine this year's curriculum, ensuring they can elevate every single student toward their fullest potential.
