Celebrating 20 Years of IES Bromma: A Reflection on Our Milestone Year

IES Bromma celebrated our 20 years of learning during the 2025/26 school year! Recognition of this milestone included the entire school gathering on the playground to form a giant "20" and vibrant student art installations. Our year-long celebrations truly showcased our unforgettable school spirit.

The 2025/26 academic year marked a historic milestone for Internationella Engelska Skolan Bromma as we celebrated our 20th Anniversary. Welcoming our new principal, Dr Heimeier, at the start of the year provided the perfect spark to kick off this landmark chapter, launching a spectacular, year-long celebration that brought our entire community together. We built excitement on the 20th day of each month with special, dedicated activities for our students and staff.

Our display of school spirit ranged in creative energy from our Autumn Fair to vibrant art displays as well as some sweet moments with cupcakes and lollipops. We dressed in our school colors for our blue and white dress day, traveled back in time by dressing like it was 2005, and drew inspiration from powerful alumni stories.

⏳ Bringing History to Life

Milestones naturally invite us to pause, look back, and reflect. In the spring term, we brought our history to life with a history board displayed in our reception area. It quickly became a fantastic conversation starter, sparking wonderful storytelling between staff and students in the corridors.

🎨 Leaving a Permanent Mark

Creativity and community contribution took center stage across both the Junior and Senior school sides through several unique projects:

• Student Council Art Competition: The Student Council sponsored a special anniversary competition, challenging students to create artwork recognizing what our school means to them. The theme for 2025/26 was “IES Bromma 20 Years – School and Me” a reflection of the student’s journey in school – and how learning shapes them.

• Senior School Mural Project: The Art Club designed and created a permanent mural art piece on the Senior side of the campus.

• Junior School Popsicle Artwork: Our younger year groups collaborated on a beautiful popsicle stick project during their Life Skills classes.

🛸 Capturing the Moment

We started the year with cupcakes and finalized our year-long celebrations in May on our very last "20th day" of the school year. With invaluable logistical help from the PE Department, the entire school gathered on the upper playground to face a fun challenge: forming a massive, human number "20."

Showing incredible cooperation and efficiency, our students and staff aligned perfectly. While an aerial shot like this would have been a massive challenge twenty years ago, we captured the moment perfectly using a drone and a pair of steady hands.

🚀 Looking Forward to Our 21st Year and Beyond

While we look back at the past two decades with immense pride, our recent graduation fresh in our memories, we look forward to the future. As we step into our 21st year, we are navigating a strategic shift. We are building on the innovative spirit of our founders and equipping our students with the modern tools they need to succeed in a changing world. 

Our promise to our families remains unchanged 20 years on: we continue to provide a transformative education in a safe, calm environment and empower our students to become the caring global citizens of tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who made this anniversary year unforgettable!
