Outstanding Cambridge English Results for Our IES Students

17 out of our 23 participating Year 9 students earned a grade A in the latest Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language examination.

Six of IES Borås' participating students even earned the highest possible grade, A*.

This year, 23 Year 9 students chose to sit this internationally recognized exam. Their results reflect both their hard work and the high standards of IES Borås English studies.

  • 17 students earned a Grade A
  • Six of these students achieved the highest possible grade, A*
  • 100 percent of our students earned a Grade C or above

Under Cambridge International standards, a Grade C and above is considered a strong pass. This means that every student who participated demonstrated strong English proficiency on a global scale.

Cambridge IGCSE qualifications are graded consistently across more than 150 countries, ensuring that our students’ results are directly comparable with those of learners worldwide. An A* represents the highest level of achievement and indicates outstanding command of the English language.

These results are not only a point of pride for our school, but also a valuable asset for our students. A Grade C or above can be used as evidence of English proficiency when applying to universities and employers in English speaking countries.

The examination assesses four key skills: speaking, reading, writing and listening. The speaking part of the examination is assessed by our teachers and moderated by Cambridge, where the other three parts are graded directly by Cambridge.

Congratulations to all of our Year 9 students for their dedication and success. We look forward to seeing our students continue to grow as confident, capable English users.
