Today, the 10th of October is the World Mental Health Day. At IES, all our schools that are part of #movewithIES are participating in the “Det syns inte”, which is a web-based tool.
“Det syns inte” is a preventative educational teaching material that offers a mix of dramatised stories, science, exercises and a rich immersion material. The material is created by brain scientist Sissela Nutley and is based on the most recent research in the area.
A survey from “Det syns inte” has shown that after working with the material the number of students that have started to place their phone in another room while studying and also not having the phone in bed with them while sleeping have increased. The survey also showed an increased amount of students using the newly learned strategies for calming themselves down when feeling stressed and/or overwhelmed.
“Living in our digitised era, with constantly being online, takes a toll on our students. We therefore hope that working with “Det syns inte” will provide students with knowledge and tools to help them navigate through life’s ups and downs while also helping them to improve their mental wellbeing and developing their ability to focus better,” says Andjela Dimitrijevic, manager for #movewithIES.
