Why CPR awareness matters

A cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, and anyone can learn the basic CPR skills that can potentially save a life. "Restart a Heart Day" is observed annually on 16 October, serving as a powerful reminder that basic life support skills are vital.

For all schools within IES, ensuring a safe and secure environment for everyone inside our buildings is paramount. Knowledge of CPR and first aid is therefore vital. To achieve this, the central student health offers training to become CPR instructors, where the goal is for all schools to have their own instructors with the task of training staff and students on a regular basis.

These dedicated instructors are part of a central student health network, where they are offered opportunities to exchange knowledge and gain new experience. This ensures that the work with CPR and first aid at every IES school is always systematic and up-to-date.
