Unity and kindness at IES Falun

The memories of 'Friendship Week' are still fresh at IES Falun! Two weeks ago, the school was buzzing with energy as students and staff came together to celebrate kindness and community. With a focus on all aspects of health and well-being, the event was a brilliant collaboration between the Student Council, Student Care, Student Development, and the #movewithIES motivator.

The week was packed with activities designed to boost well-being and school spirit. Each day featured a different #movewithIES fitness challenge, from Hula Hooping to "The Plank". The school spirit was further ignited by themed dress-up days – including a memorable "Minions and Gru" day – and daily kindness missions such as writing "Thank You" hearts and greeting new friends.

True to the spirit of giving, the school also organised a charity collection for RIA-stugan – a local centre providing support for people in vulnerable life situations. Junior Club spread love and joy around the school with handmade signs, bunting, and hearts galore! The festivities culminated on Friday the 13th with a spectacular "Glow in the Dark" Friendship Disco.

"Friendship Week is a cornerstone of our school culture," said principal Carolina Browall. "By celebrating diversity and well-being, we ensure every student feels they belong. Watching our community come together for charity and seeing older students mentor the younger ones truly shows the heart of IES Falun."
