Describe your work and what your role entails.
In my role as special education manager, I am supporting our school leaders and special educators. I handle questions around challenging student cases, IUP, legal issues, pedagogical investigations, action programs, special support, applications for additional vouchers, NPF, accessible learning environment, extra adaptations and Prorenata.

Why did you choose to start working at IES, and how long have you been working here?
I chose to be part of IES because of the clear pedagogical vision embedded within its ethos, combined with my passion for systematic quality work. I have been part of IES for a total of four years.

What would you say makes a great school?
Indicators of a great school (especially in the field of Special Education) are when there is active, systematic quality work combined with a policy network between the individual, group and organisation levels, which works for the benefit of the entire school community.

What is the best thing about your job?
The best thing about my job is meeting, uplifting and engaging with our special educators and school leaders, who do a great job making a difference for our students with special needs.

What activity during the school year do you enjoy the most? Why?
I particularly enjoy visiting our schools and supporting our school leaders and special educators.

What are you most proud of when you think about your workplace?
I am most proud of the education team and how we work together to support all our schools in their systematic quality work.
