Internationella Engelska Skolan Joins K-ULF – Strengthening Collaboration with KTH
Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is joining the K-ULF network at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between schools and research while strengthening the scientific foundation within the classroom.
K-ULF is part of the national ULF initiative (Utbildning, Lärande, Forskning), which develops and tests models for long-term collaboration between academia and the school system. By joining the network, IES opens doors for practice-based research, where teachers and researchers collaborate to address instructional challenges.
"The fact that we, as an education provider, are taking a seat on the K-ULF steering committee is an important strategic decision. It provides us with a direct link to the latest research and the opportunity to influence how future school research is designed, with the goal of making a real difference for our students," says AnnaKarin Johansson Sandman, Head of Academics at IES and the new representative on the network's steering committee.
IES Sundbyberg will be the first of IES's 47 schools to enter the partnership, with the objective of strengthening research-based instruction and elevating the profession.
"We look forward to becoming part of this network. By having our teachers participate actively alongside me, we create a direct connection between academia and our STEM lessons. It is about making teaching even more evidence-based while contributing our experiences to the research community," says Johanna Bohlin, Principal at IES Sundbyberg.
