IES welcomes initiative for mobile-free schools
Today, the government presented its proposal on how to make schools mobile-free. Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) has had mobile-free schools for many years and, therefore, welcomes this initiative.
"A mobile-free school allows students to focus on their education and creates better conditions for safety and a calm learning environment. A ban on mobile phones is something we at Internationella Engelska Skolan have had in place since the mobile phone came into school. A safe and secure school is of course about laws and rules, but above all, about expectations and leadership. Politicians cannot legislate on leadership, but they can create the conditions for it, and then it is up to us in the schools to implement it. That is why we welcome the initiative for stricter legislation," said Linda Öholm, head of public affairs at Internationella Engelska Skolan.
