IES Solna best in Sweden in global STEM competition

Students from IES Solna have participated in an international science and engineering competition organized by MIT and Engineers Without Borders. The team in year 8 was awarded “Best in Sweden”, and one student had the single top performance in all of Sweden.

The competition is called MIT x Engineers Without Borders Challenge, and this global event brought together teams of 2-5 students from around the world to solve challenging STEM problems. The competition has one category for middle school and one for high school, and IES Solna was represented by one team in year 7 and one in year 8.

The year 8 team was awarded the number one team in Sweden, and one student, Lenka Kiss, had the single top student performance in Sweden.

“We are proud of our teams, they did a great job! The challenge tested their problem-solving skills and engineering knowledge under timed conditions.”
