IES Kungsbacka Teacher Awarded the Prestigious Helgepriset 2026
We are thrilled to celebrate our colleague Ms Malin Rosendahl, teacher at IES Kungsbacka, who has been awarded Helgepriset 2026! Ms Rosendahl receives a grant of SEK 125,000 for her successful and innovative reading method, 'HögläsningsRally' (Read-Aloud Rally).
Helgepriset is awarded annually by the Helge Ax:son Johnson Foundation to support outstanding pedagogical development in Swedish schools. Ms Rosendahl was recognised in the primary school category (grundskolans lägre stadier) for a model she has spent years developing. Her approach uses short, frequent read-aloud sessions to boost students' reading fluency, motivation, and confidence.
With the grant, Ms Rosendahl will evaluate the method and further develop it into a subject-integrated reading resource intended for national distribution.
“It feels both fantastic and an honour to be awarded Helgepriset. The Read-Aloud Rally grew out of a real classroom challenge: how do we create reading practice that actually happens every day?” says Ms Rosendahl.
