Big school football tournament at Kärrtorps IP
Over 350 students were present in the sunny weather at Kärrtorps IP outside Stockholm on Thursday when the Internationella Engelska Skolan’s football tournament was held.
"This is the eleventh time we have held the tournament and it’s wonderful to see such joy in the students," says organizer Tony Fenton, who is usually a physical education teacher at IES Täby.
A total of 15 different IES schools were represented, including students from the Stockholm area, Örebro, Eskilstuna, and Gävle. In the tournament, students from year 6 played, and each school was represented by a boys' team and a girls' team. Over 100 matches were played during the day at Kärrtorps IP outside Stockholm.
"At IES, we have very high quality ambitions, but we also have high ambitions for the students to have a good and calm study environment and this tournament is of course a part of that," says organizer Tony Fenton.
IES Täby emerged victorious in both the boys' and girls' categories.
