IES Liljeholmen is moving to new premises in Midsommarkransen

Internationella Engelska Skolan Liljeholmen is moving to newly built premises in Midsommarkransen. The new school will open in autumn 2024 or 2025 at the latest. At the same time, the possibility opens up to add F-3 and fritids (educational care before and after school) to the current grades 4-9.

The move goes from today’s premises near Telefonplan 1.2 kilometers northeast along the same street, towards Liljeholmen. The new school building of just over 10,000 square meters will be located next to Brännkyrka gymnasium.

“We are looking forward to being able to offer students a place with us all the way from F-class,” says James Northcott, principal at IES Liljeholmen.

The new building will be owned by the real estate company Nystad and will be one of Stockholm’s most modern schools, fully adapted to IES’ requirements. The construction company Veidekke will start in January 2023, and the building is expected to be completed in 18 months. In addition to the school building and school yard, the project includes three large sports halls to be used by both the City of Stockholm and IES, as well as by local clubs for activities.

“The new building will be a great improvement for the school, with eco-classified state-of-the-art premises and a fantastic schoolyard,” says Jörgen Stenquist, the deputy CEO at Internationella Engelska Skolan.
