Regarding the article in Landskrona Posten and Helsingborgs Dagblad

This morning Landskrona Posten and Helsingborgs Dagblad have published an article about IES Landskrona. The second article is expected on Tuesday. What has been scrutinised are the school's routines for creating safety and calm in the school as well as the working environment conditions for students and staff.

When we as a school, and I as a principal, receive criticism in this way, I of course take it very seriously. At IES Landskrona, all staff work all the time to ensure that our school provides a calm and safe environment for our students.

When we receive signals about insecurity or lack of calm, we deal with the situation quickly and take steps to prevent similar situations from occurring again. This work always begins by having conversations with the students and staff involved, then guardians are informed in order to be able to support their child at home.

Cooperation with guardians is of the utmost importance to us as we see great positive changes when they are involved in the children's schooling, not least when it comes to the work of promoting a safe school environment. We have an ongoing dialogue with guardians to be able to support students also ahead.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, we expect a second article to be published, about IES Landskrona as a workplace. In order to do a good job, it is important that our employees have a sense of job satisfaction. When I started in the role of principal, in August 2021, I immediately started intensive work at IES Landskrona in this respect, and involved our head office and the school's safety representative to develop the areas where there was dissatisfaction with the working environment. We have come a long way, but work still remains to be done.

We know that change takes time and is demanding, and that is natural for all workplaces, including our school. As part of that work, situations may arise where school leaders have to make uncomfortable and unpopular decisions. I take the criticism directed at the current leadership very seriously and the school will continue its cooperation with the head office and the close dialogue with the school's safety representative, to ensure a good working environment at IES Landskrona. We now have a good dialogue with the school's student council and will continue to develop that work to ensure a safe and calm school for all our students.
